We’ve been out here four and a half years and I haven’t found out if this type of dish is called a casserole or hot-dish.. It probably doesn’t make any difference as both would sound different with the twang that the Southern language seems to possess. So reverting back to what we would have called it in the mid-west, here’s a recipe for Spaghetti Hot-Dish.
1 lb ground beef or venison
16 oz package Penne or Rotini
2 Jars Pizza Sauce or 1 Can Spaghetti Sauce
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1/2 tsp Onion Powder
2 tsp Season Salt (To Taste)
2 c Mozzarella Cheese (More or less as desired)
Optional Peppers, Onions, Mushrooms
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare pasta per the package instructions. Cook ground beef or venison and drain. Add seasonings and choice of sauce to cooked meat. Mix seasoned meat with pasta and put in a 9 x 13 inch or 9 x 7 inch baking dish. Top with cheese and bake for 20 minutes or until cheese is melted.
