This method allows you to get fresh asparagus off your patch throughout the summer. It’s to late to do it this summer, but if I don’t tell you now, I’ll forget by next spring.
In the spring, you harvest only half the patch and let the other half grow. Then 6 weeks later you cut that down and let the other half grow. New shoots will grow in the section you cut down. By the time you’ve harvested both halves, you’ll still have time for the second to regrow and supply nutrients for the following year.
