Breaded Venison Steak

With deer season being in all around the country, hunters are looking for various and new ways to enjoy the fruit of their hunt. Here is a recipe for breaded venison steak in wine. I love to cook with wine. Sometimes I even add it to what I’m cooking as in this recipe.

4 to 8 venison round steaks
1 egg, beaten
1 c cracker crumbs
1/2 c flour
Salt and pepper
4 Tbsp vegetable oil
1 onion, chopped
1 can mushrooms, drained
1 c red wine

Dip steaks in beaten egg, roll in mixture of cracker crumbs, flour, salt and pepper. Brown steaks in oil and place in baking dish. Cover with onions, mushrooms and wine. Bake, uncovered at 350 degrees for an hour and a half.

Keep your fork
