Flax Seed Flat Bread

Are you looking for a good source of fiber and omega-3 fatty acids? Do you enjoy baking such things as biscuits, pancakes, muffins and breads?

One ounce of flax seeds contain 0 mg. cholesterol, 6 g. protein, 4 g. fiber, and is a particularly good source of a variety of antioxidants and minerals. The best way to get the most nutrition out of flax seeds is to buy the whole seed and grind it as you need it. It can be ground in a blender. Here’s a recipe for flat bread made with flax seed.

5 eggs
1/2 c water
1/3 c melted butter
2 c ground flax seed
2 tsp baking powder
1-1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt

Lightly beat the eggs, then mix all ingredients together. Spread on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for approximately 25 minutes. Sweetener and flavoring may be added is so desired.
