Scalloped Eggs With Asparagus

Asparagus is plentiful in the grocery stores and will soon be up and growing in patches across the country. Here is a delicious way to enjoy this spring time favorite.

6 hard-boiled eggs
1-1/2 c medium white sauce
3/4 c buttered bread crumbs
2 dozen stalks fresh cooked or canned asparagus
Salt and pepper to taste

Fill a well-oiled baking dish with alternate layers of sliced eggs and asparagus. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Add the medium white sauce. Covered with the buttered bread crumbs. Bake at 400 degrees until the sauce bubbles.
